I have studied the history of that region and read the work of many Islamic scholars. Ritter is as arrogant now on the facts as he was as a UN inspector. He quotes textbook facts. He continues to claim those around him, especially we " ignorant Americans" can't possibly know what is going on in the minds of the Islamic fiathful....Many of us know full well the ignorance of our government. I have been aware of it since becoming aware in my teens, during the late 60's and early 70's. Also having spent time in the middle east I know that there is a tribal culture that goes beyond Sunni and Shiite. Once we went beyond disarming Saddam in Iraq we were destined to fall into this hell-hole. Our form of democracy can not work in that region. George Bush's ignorance in believing he could trump thousands of years of Holy Wars and religious extremism with his extreme Christian belief system has created a civil war, killed tens of thousands of civilians, cost the lives of close to 3.700 of our brightest and best, and cost us trillions of dollars. Our governments unwillingness to put an end to this war (including the worthless 2005 elected Congress and Senate), is criminal.

I agree their actions are criminal. Their unwillingness to do what is right disgusts me, Bob.

As to the author of this article and since you have studied this topic intensely, is there anything that he says that is false or misleading or inaccurate?

I liked the article. I'm waiting for Bob's response as to the facts for I sure would like to know what is true and what is not. [COOL]
