Democrat and Republican Bandwagons

June 20, 2008 / by whereabouts

For everyone of you who are on the Democratic bandwagon: GET OFF OF IT!  The Dems are NO BETTER than the Republicans as so many of their actions prove just that, especially Pelosi and those in congress.  The republicans are not all war mongers and the Dems are not all Peace lovers.  This is NOT about PARTY ISSUES any longer, we are long, long, long since past that.  This is about AMERICA... about LIBERTY and Freedom... about Constitutional RIGHTS!

GET OVER THE PARTY BASHING and move on to what really matters.

Obama, the democrat, is a scum bag.  McCain the republican is a SCUM BAG.  Hillary (Hitlery) the republican in disguise as a democrat is a SCUM BAG!

It's time for good Americans to support a SINGLE GOOD and QUALITY CANDIDATE and at this point, the only one out there is the Libertarian candidate, Barr.  We know the Libertarian perspective is sound when it comes to economics and the decisions of war all revolve around economics.  Peace revolves around economics.

Get over the party hump and do what is right.  Let go of your party affiliation because those who support the democrats, Obama, Hitlery and any other simply because they are a democrat are no better than the ugly republicans who supported the passing of the illegal wiretapping and the soon to be allowing Bush to pardon himself and his administration for the hideous and insidious evil they have perpetuated on their followers, allies, and much of mankind.

Move on and do the right thing.  Start promoting the only quality candidate there is.

Barr...Barr? That old tired Republican...Barr? Oh well, doesn't say much for the Libertarians at all...I'm sorry Laura, but that is a bad choise for that party...a sell out just for name recognition for a sunny side up Republican.

But why?  Obama has pledge to war with Iran?  He's pledge to fight for Israel.

  • whereabouts said 3 months ago

Just an FYI with some info for you to consider:

    http://thirdpartywatch.com/2008/06/13/comparing-ron-paul-and-bob-barr-on-the-crucial-issues-of-the-day/

    7. Bob Barr can’t be trusted because he’s not been a Libertarian long enough.

Barr joined the Libertarian Party in 2006. He has held libertarian beliefs prior to joining the party. In 2004, two years prior to joining the Libertarian Party he publicly and officially endorsed Libertarian Candidate Michael Badnarik for President. He was called a “libertarian” due to his criticisms of George W. Bush’s Iraq war policies and violations of civil liberties beginning in 2003. It seems that Ron Paul and Bob Barr crossed paths in the night. Paul went back to the Republican Party after his brief stint as the Libertarian Presidential nominee in 1988 (although he remains a party member). Bob Barr left the Republican Party because it left him.

    6. Bob Barr is a Neocon.

Maybe in the mid-nineties this was marginally true. Today he is everything a neo-conservative is not. Would a neo-conservative advocate bringing our troops home from Iraq as quickly and safely as possible? Would a neo-conservative advocate bringing our troops home that are currently stationed in South Korea, Europe, and Japan? Would a neo-conservative be calling for switching to a non-interventionist foreign policy? Neocon Schmeocon. If Bob Barr is a neocon then Ron Paul is a neocon.

    5. Bob Barr is Ex CIA.

No one has been able to convince me that this is a bad thing. The argument that just because Barr worked for the CIA makes him untrustworthy is nothing more than conspiratorial horse hockey. You can say you don’t trust him because he voted for some bad laws in his past, but trying to argue that he’s untrustworthy because he used to work for the CIA only strengthens your opponent’s argument. In doing this you are generalizing to the highest degree. You are thinking of people in groups rather than individuals. Looking beyond this “groupthink” one should realize that being a former CIA employee is a great thing to have on the resume when running for office. At least when viewed by the average voter.

    4. Bob Barr voted for the Iraq War Authorization.

I challenge you to think back at how you felt in the days and months following the September 11th attacks. If you were in Congress and were presented with reasonable and logical evidence that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and was intent on using them against the United States how would you have voted? Unless you are a Ron Paul I suspect you would have gone along with the majority who voted for it. Now that we have the benefit of hindsight rather than the patriotic tunnel vision we had during that time it is easy to be against the war. If you were against it back then you were a true iconoclast. At least Bob Barr has publicly denounced his vote and owned up to the mistake rather than obfuscate with political rhetoric. Who better to spread the liberty message than someone who echoed the voice of the majority of Americans at that time, but then formed a new opinion as the Iraq war moved forward year after year? The general public has taken this same journey towards liberty along with Bob Barr.

    3. Bob Barr Is/Was A Drug Warrior.

Many Barr critics don’t seem to understand the difference between ‘was’ and ‘is’. Yes, Barr was a major leader supporting the war on drugs in the 90’s. I wore day glow green, yellow, and orange shirts in the 90’s. I realized the error of my ways and modified my wardrobe, eventually. Why is it so unacceptable to some that Bob Barr has realized the error of his drug warrior past? He openly and passionately campaigns for the decriminalization of marijuana. He is active with the Marijuana Policy Project and is endorsed by its founder Rob Kampia. If Bob Barr’s drug war transformation is sincere enough for an activist working every day to minimize the impact of cannabis why is it not good enough for some?

    2. Bob Barr is no Ron Paul.

No one is Ron Paul except Ron Paul. No politician has the unblemished 30+ year record fighting for liberty like him. It is unfair and unwise to measure every candidate with the Ron Paul yard stick. There is a plus side to Bob Barr not being another Ron Paul. Bob Barr is trusted by conservatives who would never have considered voting for Ron Paul. Bob Barr gives these voters an open window to climb through into the liberty house. For example, radio and TV host Glenn Beck never once said he would consider voting for Ron Paul even though he calls himself a libertarian on some issues. Beck has said more than once that he is considering voting for Barr. He even suggests Barr as a viable option to his guests when the election topic comes up. What baffles me is that Barr has the same foreign policy positions as Ron Paul yet the reason Beck claims he could never vote for Paul is due to foreign policy. Logical or not, Bob Barr could potentially bring in more conservative votes than even Ron Paul himself.

    1. Bob Barr voted for the Patriot Act.

This is by far the most common criticism of Bob Barr, yet it is thrown around as a black vs. white criticism when the truth lies in the details. Bob Barr voted for the Patriot Act so he could put a sunset clause in it to force it to expire every 5 years. This clause requires that the Act pass a legislative vote to continue. If Barr did not vote for the Patriot Act his sunset clause would likely not exist. It would be permanent. It was going to pass with or without Barr’s vote so Barr’s strategic decision was to vote for it so he could shape it by adding the sunset provision. This is Bob Barr jumping on the grenade to save liberty. He testified against the Patriot Act in 2005 when it came up for renewal. He has spoken out against it in just about every interview since its passage. Yes, Barr voted for the Patriot Act, but there is more to the story than just the vote.

Why so?  It's not about the aprty, Strider, it's about the Constitution and protecting the rights of the people.  Obama has pledged WAR with Iran to protect Israel and that is freaking B-f'n-S!  Obama is no different.

Why is Barr unfavorable?  I am seriously intersted in another perspective.  I had planned to write-in Ron Paul but my county doesn't count write-in votes for President.  That is an entirely other issue in and of itself but there is nothing that can be done about that prior to this election.  Obama is scum and McCain is scum and god forbid something terrible happens to McCain, helath or whatever and the repubs throw up Jeb Bush on the ticket.

I don't want to have to chose from the lesser of two evils (Obama and whomever) because they are both EVIL and are not intersted in protecting the American people, onyl themselves and their political careers and the power and the wealth that will ultimately accompany it.

  • Strider333 said 3 months ago

I respectfully disagree my friend...Barr is not a Libertarian just a washed up righty conservative, however, may be he'll draw some of his old friends to help defeat McCain...I'm voting for Obama...and will probably join fellow verterans here in Wisconsin to help elect him...

Mmmm.  Bitterness doth not become thee.

    How you been doin'?

  • whereabouts said 3 months ago

    Sweet of you.

I'm not bitter at all, not angry nor anything of the like.  Maybe you misread my strong statements about how I feel?

Anyway, I'm doing well and thanks for asking!

This country is headed for a very serious situation and most people are walking around with a heavy veil covered over their senses.  Obama is another political whore and he does not represent change.  The situation is dire.  War with Iran is an absolute and Israel will wait until after the elections to start it.  Obama has pledged to fight Iran and to protect Israel as he clearly stated in his address to AIPAC most recently.  That is simply ridiculous.

McCain, as most of are aware, is a puppet fool and by the looks of him, probably will not make it through a presidency without some serious health issue.  Even if he doesn't end up with health issues, he's will do nothing positive for this nation and it's people.

There WILL be a severe food shortage and it's happening already in places like New York City and Washington D.C.  This is serious stuff.  The recent flooding in the plain states coupled with the serious drought in other regions will render food supplies in this nation slim to none and force us to reply on potentially harmful imports, such as the tomatoes from Mexico that were so deadly, and the lettuce, and cows, and yaddy yadda yadda.

Fuel needs are crushing American and American businjess.  Gas prices are not rising; the dollar is falling as inflation is running rampant, more than anything Americans have ever experienced before!  As of right now in 2008, it still costs only one ounce of silver to buy four gallons of gas, just like it did over 40 years earlier.  Silver is the SAME price today as it was back in 1971 when we stopped backing the dollar with gold and silver..when it used to be REAL money.  Now its a note, a debt...a worthless piece of paper.

Iran is pushing for OPEC to renounce its acceptance of the dollar and witch to Petro dollars.  Iran will no longer accept the greenback as a means of payment for oil exports which is WHY we will war with them.  the same reason we invaded Iraq.

Iraq just sold out their oil to the same companies Hussein kicked out when he first came into power, when it was controlled as a colony state.  These are all NO BID contracts brokered by the US.

I'm not bitter, my good friend, I am real about what is happening and desperately attempting to open the eyes of those who have them shut and refuse to see the truth.

Obama is a political whore and there is no debating that.  He is my senator and he has not owned up to one thing he has promised he'd do prior to his being elected.  he will NOT bring change to the White House and to this nations policies.  he will simply follow the path of the puppet masters.  Obama attended the most recent Bilderberger meeting WITH Hitlery!  THAT is where Obama's dedication lies; to serve the special interests of the wealthy and powerful globalist elite.

Did you see this most recent article about an interview with Bolton on Fox News regarding Iran?  http://thinkprogress.org/2008/06/22/bolton-arabs-delighted/

"If Bolton really thinks that '... Iran's options to retaliate after being attacked are actually "less broad than people think."' and if he believes "that Iran would not want to escalate a conflict because 1) it still needs to export oil, 2) it would worry about "an even greater response" from Israel, 3) and it would worry about the U.S.'s response" then how likely is it that Iran would ever initiate the conflict in the first place?!   Bolton just explained why a pre-emptive attack upon Iran is totally unnecessary and that fear of Iranian aggression is baseless." (this statement made by an associate in another forum)

Yet, Obama, the Devil in disguise as a Savior pledged to FIGHT Iran and to do whatever he has to do, whatever he has to do (his words here) to protect Israel.  Whatever we have to do. (his words again).

Obama has pledged to take this country into WWIII and will no doubt use nuclear power to accomplish that and FOR WHAT?

  • benedicts said 3 months ago

Your comment remeinded me of a paragraph in a 2005 book of mine.   Here 'tis.

    "

Of the reasons mentioned for the invasion, only “the oil” might legitimately have served as a cause of war.  In 1998, after the UN withdrew the first wave of UN inspectors, Saddam Hussein took the unforgivable step of denominating Iraq’s oil contracts in euros rather than dollars.  If the rest of the oil exporting nations had followed suit, the dollar would have been put under significant pressure.  But in 1998 the threat was not so noticeable.  The American economy was chugging along at a healthy pace, the dollar was strong, and the budget was heading toward a balance.  But in 2001, the economy had stagnated and Bush II’s economic advisors had instigated a secret weak-dollar policy in an effort to give domestic producers an advantage versus their foreign competitors.[1]  If the weakening of the dollar were to lead other oil producers to opt for the euro (which was getting stronger as the dollar weakened), the effect upon a debtor nation (like the U.S.) may have been catastrophic.  It would, thus, have made all the sense in the world for Bush II to make a deal with the Saudi Arabian government, that we would eliminate the secular socialist dictatorship on its doorstep if they would use their influence to keep OPEC contracts denominated in dollars.  As malignant as such a deal might seem to honest people, it would have made more sense than no reason at all, which is finally what we wound up with.

[1] That policy was doomed.  A great portion of domestic consumption is for imported goods (oil, in particular) for which no significant domestic competition exists.  The resulting rise in the price of oil was thus inevitable and, according to oil-sniffing conspiracy theorists, was planned to have just that effect.

Yea, they all suck in some way, But my only concern is the Electoral college won't let anyone but McCain or Obama have it. And to me Obama is the far lesser of the evils...

  • benedicts said 3 months ago

And being a resident of Illinois you would know Obama better than most of us do.  I have nothing much against McCain -- other than the fact that he, like Bush II, is a C student.  We need brains in high places for a change.  Milady says she feels uncomfortable when her president is dumber than her husband (with no comment about how dumb she thinks her room mate is).

  • whereabouts said 3 months ago

Haha!  You, my firend, are FAR from being a dummy!  Yes, I agree; we need brains in high places for a change.

  • whereabouts said 3 months ago

Lesser Evil is still Evil.  Its not about voting for who has a chance to win, its about integrity and doing what is right and standing by American values and making a strong statement by your choice for president of the US.

What kind of statement does it make when one chooses the lesser of two evils?

Not a very good one, in my opinion.  I think it says we're willing to accept evil.

  • ekyprogressive said 3 months ago

I hear you, and you know I am there with you, but I am too scared that McCain would win if too many jump onto a ship that could never float to begin with...

If it was just down to a vote for the people, It could happen, but our system isn't set that way.

  • ekyprogressive said 3 months ago

As I told Laura, he is worse than a "C" Student...

    "

After graduation McCain went off to follow the family trade at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. However, the storied disciplinary effect of military school had little effect on the rambunctious young man. He continued to push the buttons and limits of his superiors, accumulating an impressive number of demerits for small infractions and barely squeaking by academically to graduate in the bottom five of his class in 1958."

    Bottom 5 in his class....LOL

McCain will croak, or have some serious illness take him out.  Then we'll get Jeb Bush.  The we can prosecute him for his role in 9-11...

No, seriously.  It's possible that McCain will be taken out.

  • whereabouts said 3 months ago

    bottom 5...yeah, that's pretty bad!
