Lisa Stebic Searches Begin Once Again

As many of my Blogster friends are already aware, I have been deeply involved in the search for Lisa Stebic the missing Plainfield, Illinois mother of two who disappeared without a trace on Arpil 30th 2007. She was last seen by her husband Craig Stebic. Craig and Lisa were in the process of divorcing but remain living in the home they purchased jointly a few years previous.

It has been a terribly long winter with early freezing temperatures in 2007, tons and tons of snow in 2007 and 2008, and very bitter cold days. Today, however, was like heaven and was bright and sunny out and in the 50s!

My friend, Anna, and I had searched in vain last year for Lisa with no luck whatsoever.

All winter long, we've been planning and planning and today we put the beginning of our plan in action. We also have met up with a fantastic woman who is a former NYPD officer bringing a tremendous wealth of experience and knowledge to assist us in finding the remains of Lisa Stebic. We are extremely thankful for all the talents and drive our fellow search partner brings to the table. She is also very insightful, too, and in a case like this, that's our best bet!

While the weather was beautiful, the terrain was a little less inviting. Our shoes were covered in mud and in some areas it felt like quicksand with a plunger like suction grabbing hold of your foot. In other areas, the ground was still frozen and was very slippery, especially along the embankments and ravine edges. All in all, even though our mission was a serious one, we had great fun playing in the mud, and little bits of snow, and slop!

Its 6:00 PM and I am just winding down after today's adventure. The walk outside in this beautiful weather after such a long and dreary winter has done wonders for me andm y spirit. I am so excited to get back out there this weekend to continue our search. Anything to be outside!

In every search for Lisa, we also do not forget Stacy Peterson. Since both of these women were so near each other at the time of their disappearnaces, it is likely that a search for one can be considered a search for the other as well.

I am hungry and Im also ready for a glass of wine!
