A Time to Be Alone

January 2, 2007 / by whereabouts

Great minds of all sorts throughout history all share one thing in common: a lot of time spent alone in contemplation.

In order to learn about yourself, you must spend considerable amounts of time alone. An hour a day is not a considerable amount of time. Going for a period of months where you have retreated away from society's influence and allowed your own mind and subconscious to drift with the wind is allowing yourself needed mind space. This process allows you to uncover the mysteries of life. This is where you learn things about the universe that you cannot learn any other way. The ancients understood the workings of our solar system and the universe for this reason. Many of the ancients were deep, great thinkers.

Those who are consistently on the go doing this and that and never allow their minds a retreat from the physical realm of consciousness, do not have the ability to understand anything beyond the physical presence for that is all they know by their own experience. The physical presence provides us the opportunity to learn fundamentals and basics but on its own, it cannot provide the tools and experience necessary to understand the workings of the universe. The physical presence is far too limiting and the moment you limit your options is the moment learning becomes an obstacle and truth becomes distorted.

Truth is absolute and without the presence of truth the result can only be imaginary, fictitious, false, fake, a lie. You cannot trust a lie, ever. Lies only disguise the truth and create confusion. Truth is your friend. The enemy is a lie. One must take a stand against untruths for if not, one becomes only a part of the lie and a part of the problem. Condoning the actions of the untrustworthy is an act against truth. Without truth, nothing has meaning, everything is false.

The truth, and only the truth, will set you free and will set society free from the chains of lies that bind us and enslave us.

Namaste.

I agree! In my opinion, I would rather face the most painful truth than a lie any day![HEART]

    Hi,

Sometimes, for me, short is better as my brain is too tired to get so deep. Also, so many times it is not necessary to go so deep into the subject. Once I "get it," I see no need to continue on and on to further explain the experience, moreover I do not need to convince myself of its validity.

    Thanks for commenting.[SMILE]

So true! Since the kids have all gone off to college, most of my day is spent in silence.. except the animals aroundme, I talk to them. ( ha) I am the office manager for my husbands office, but I have trained 3 girls over the past 15 years and when one of them isn't having a baby, things run pretty well. I ck lab work from this computer so I only go to the office once a week, sometimes more, sometime less~~I enjoy my solitude.[HEART]

"This process allows you to uncover the mysteries of life." Maybe this sort of contemplation permits us to see that most of life's mysteries aren't all that mysterious.

And I agree that truth is my friend but sometimes falsehood speaks to me in amicable tones.

The truth will indeed set you free, but first it's gonna piss you off. (Werner Erhard)

Thank you kind Sir. If the truth doesn't piss you off first, it will certainly scare the hell out of you instead![SMILE]

Yes, contemplation is a good thing. Meditation/and concentration=focus.. also, Prayer to pull it all together and ask for the grace of discernment to understand TRUTH.
    It will come...we will know...
We feel it already, we speak it but fail to listen to ourselves and others. If one listens more, chats less, we can hear it screem.....
    Good post.
    Namaste..[THUMBUP][HEART]
